A Day in the Life of a Baby Elephant: Adventures, Snuggles, and Trunk Tricks

Hey there, awesome Potted Community! It’s me, Kham Saen, the cutest and quirkiest baby elephant in the jungle. Miss Adena left her laptop out while she cleans up after us so I thought I’d hop on here and tell everyone Thank YOU for your generous donations to keep me and my friends living a safe and carefree life now. I thought I’d give you a sneak peek into a day in my adventurous and sometimes goofy life while she’s distracted. So, fasten your seatbelts (if you have them) and get ready for a wild ride through my elephantastic day!

6:00 AM – Rise and Shine:
The sun is barely peeking through the jungle canopy, and guess who’s up and ready for the day? That’s right, yours truly! I start my day with a little trumpety-trumpet to let everyone know I’m ready for action. My mommy, Mae Pond, and the gang join in, and we have a mini morning concert. Who needs an alarm clock when you’ve got the trumpet squad?

7:00 AM – Breakfast Bonanza:
It’s time to munch on some delicious fruits and rice balls. I’ve got a sophisticated palate, you know! Mom shows me the ropes on how to use this long, twisty thing called a trunk. It’s like having my own built-in snack-grabber and watermelon-scooper. Trunk tricks, anyone?

9:00 AM – Mud Bath Extravaganza:
After a hearty breakfast, it’s off to the mud pit for the ultimate spa experience. I dive in headfirst, splashing mud everywhere. It’s not just about getting clean; it’s about looking fabulous and keeping cool. Plus, mud is the perfect way to accessorize my already adorable baby elephant skin.

12:00 PM – Nap Time (or Not):
They say I’m a growing elephant, and growing is serious business, right? But sometimes, a boy just needs a power nap. Mom tries to convince me it’s nap time, but I’ve got exploring to do! The jungle is full of exciting things like giant leaves and funny-looking bugs. Who can resist that?

3:00 PM – Trunk Olympics:
Time for some trunk exercises. I practice picking up sticks, trumpeting at unsuspecting butterflies, and giving my pals trunk high-fives. My trunk has a mind of its own, but hey, that’s what makes it so much fun! I’m the trunk master in training.

6:00 PM – Family Dinner and Games:
Dinner is a family affair. We gather ’round, sharing stories and enjoying a buffet of tasty treats. Sometimes, we play games like trunk tag and hide-and-trumpet. I’m not the best hider, but I sure can trumpety-trumpet with the best of them!

8:00 PM – Bedtime Routine:
As the day winds down, it’s time for a soothing lullaby from the jungle. Mom guides me to a cozy spot, and I snuggle in for a night of sweet dreams filled with fruit treats, mud puddles, and trunk adventures.

It sounds like Miss Adena is making her way back so I have to hurry and end this and act like a normal elephant again. I hope she leaves her laptop out again the next time she comes here so I can tell you more about what we elephants do each day and also maybe we can learn some new things together too!! Next time you come shopping at Potted give me and my friends a wave hello and if you have any, toss us some watermelon hehe. We have so much fun playing there and watching everyone shop.

And there you have it, a day in the life of this baby elephant extraordinaire! Thanks for joining me on my wild and whimsical journey. Until next time, trumpety-trumpet and elephant hugs to you all!

Before I leave, I overheard Miss Adena talking to a friend about 2 elephants that need URGENT help to get them into safety with us so please check group notices about how you can help if you haven’t already!

P.S. Did you know elephants never forget how awesome you are? It’s true!
