Official Potted Market Requirements

Thinking about becoming an Official Potted Market? The following guidelines are in place to ensure a good experience for both our market owners and Potted players.

As Potted continues to grow, we’re refining our Official Market Sim requirements to ensure all our markets remain active, engaged, and compliant with the expectations of the community. We value your partnership, and to continue benefiting from your official status, the following updated rules and requirements will now apply to all existing markets.

Please read through these updated terms to continue as a Potted Official Market.

Official Market Benefits:
As an Official Potted Market, you continue to enjoy these benefits:
    • A custom build Satellite Store fitted to your sim and prim limits.
    • Listing on our Official Community Markets Site.
    • FREE Calendar listings via the Potted Ticket System for your Auctions and Events.
    • Advertising rights in the Potted – Official Advertising Group.
    • Participation in events and programs designed to drive traffic to your sim, as well as other bonuses aimed at boosting your market’s success.
1-2 FREE Limited Edition Market Sim Benefit Pots per month (after three months of compliance).

Updated Requirements for Official Market Sim Status:
To maintain your Official Market Sim status, you must now meet these updated requirements:
    1. Potted Satellite Store:
        ◦ Your sim must host a Potted Satellite Store with vendors provided by Potted, in addition to your auction and market areas.
    2. Market Stall Rentals:
        ◦ Your market must have a minimum of 10 stalls available for rental by outside players.
        ◦ Each rental must have a minimum of 50 prims available and/or a minimum of 500 total prims available for rent.
        ◦ At least 50% of stalls must be consistently rented (excluding owners), and stalls must be actively monitored to ensure they are not filled with sick plants or improperly maintained.
        ◦ Attempts to artificially fill stalls with alt rentals to keep Official Status is not allowed and will result in immediate consequences when discovered.
    3. Activity Requirements:
        ◦ Advertise at least twice per week in the Potted Ad group or Discord to promote auctions, events, and any available stalls.
        ◦ Submit a calendar listing for each auction or event via the Potted Ticket System.

Auction and Sales Rules:
    1. Auction Pricing:
        ◦ Each item on an auction panel must start at no less than 500 Lindens. Adding “gift” items to auction panels to artificially inflate value is not allowed. For example, if three items are on the panel, the starting bid must reflect 1500L.

New Markets:
If you are a new market, we understand that building up can take time. To help ensure your success:

    • You will have three months to fulfill all requirements to qualify for the Market Benefit Pot program.
    • During this time, we expect you to work towards filling your stalls, hosting events, and remaining active in the Potted community.
    • Consequences for non-compliance will still apply to new markets. If you fail to meet activity, rental, or compliance standards during your initial three months, you will be warned and given guidance on how to improve before being granted full benefits.
    • New markets will not gain access to the Market Benefit Pot until they have fully complied with all requirements for a full three-month period.
    • Participation in various other benefits (as they arise) will be at the discretion of Potted.

Monthly On-Site Reviews:
Potted staff will conduct monthly reviews to ensure compliance with all requirements. These reviews will include:
    • Total number of Potted rentals available.
    • Number of rentals currently occupied (excluding owners and owner alts).
    • Prim count available and used for rentals.
    • Compliance with advertising and event-hosting requirements.
    • Monitoring of renter stalls, including ensuring they are not filled with sick plants.
    • Regular compliance with these requirements is necessary to retain your status as an Official Market Sim.

Benefit Pot Program:
    1. Qualifying Period:
        ◦ To qualify for all Potted Official Market benefits, including the Market Benefit Pot program, markets must remain compliant with all requirements for a period of three months.
    2. Pot Allocation:
        ◦ After the three-month qualifying period, markets will receive 1 or 2 pots per month as part of the official program, depending on their market activity and advertising efforts.
        ◦ Markets must continue to follow all rules to remain eligible for the pots and other program benefits.
    3. Rejoining the Program:
        ◦ If dropped from the program due to non-compliance, rejoining will not be automatic. The market must go through a review process, including fulfilling all requirements for 30 consecutive days, after which Potted will assess if re-admittance is appropriate.

Consequences for Non-compliance:
We want to work with you to ensure all markets are following these new requirements. If an issue arises, here’s how we’ll handle it:

    1. First Consequence: A formal warning will be issued for the specific rule broken. We will contact the Market Owner by both IM and notecard to discuss the issue and work together on a resolution.
    2. Second Consequence: A one-month suspension from the Market Benefit Pot program (no pots will be distributed during this time). We will schedule another meeting via text to review the situation and explore solutions.
    3. Third Consequence: Permanent removal from the Market Benefit Pot program and loss of Official Market Sim status.

NOTE: We will be conducting our first Monthly Review in November 2024, before the November Benefit Pots go out. No changes will be made to Official Market Status in October 2024, as we wish to give all markets time to adjust to these updated requirements as needed.
