Welcome back to the Shed! A full week into November now and for me at least SL seems to be between seasons and holidays. Halloween seems like it was weeks ago and Christmas is just that little bit too far away to start decorating for it, lets get past US Thanksgiving first.
Wandering around and I seem to go from Autumn to Winter and right back to Autumn the next place I go to.
In RL where I live in England it’s ‘Scrumpy’ season. Time to get out and pick up those apples blown from the trees, that are seen as rubbish and make yourself some Cider!
“Scrumpy is a type of Cider originating in the West of England particularly the West Country. Traditionally, the dialect term “scrumpy” was used to refer to what was otherwise called ‘rough’, a harsh cider made from unselected apples.
Today the term is more often used to distinguish locally made ciders produced in smaller quantities and using traditional methods, from mass produced branded ciders.” (Source – Wikipedia)

Talking of Markets, as mentioned last week I invited Claud down to the Shed for a chat, as the Markets Manager she is the best person to tell us more about them.
Hi Claud welcome to the Potted Shed.
Hi Shaun and thank you …. not so sure I like sitting in this plant pot, note to anyone else invited to Shaun’s shed, bring a chair ☺
Can you explain what your role as Markets manager is?
Markets and auctions are a highly important secondary part of the success of Potted, my main role is to liaise between the market sim owners and Potted chiefs to make sure they are aware of new and exciting opportunities open to them and their customers.
I also assist new market owners in the process of becoming ‘Official’ and ensure they have all the necessary information to make their market and/or auction a success.
Tell us more about the Markets benefit pots, how it works and how the markets qualify for it?
The benefit pots were devised as a reward/thank you to the market sims for all their hard work and to help a little with the costs involved.
An Official market/auction will qualify for the benefit pot IF they have a satellite store on their sim and have retained it there for 60 days and agree to some pricing guidelines.
Two pots are awarded to each qualifying sim every month on the 15th and must either be given free in a fish bowl raffle or sold via Live auction or bid board.
In the interests of fairness, market owners and staff CAN NOT bid or win these pots at the sim they work at.
How do Markets/Auctions go about getting their place on the website?
It’s really simple and easy – in the first instance submit a ticket https://pottedinsl.com/support/ and you will receive all the necessary information to guide you, following a visit from me and dependent on whether or not the applicant requires a satellite store installation the whole process can be completed in a few days, give or take depending on staff availability.
Currently how many official Potted markets are there?
That figure is fluid ☻ we have several applications going through process now but currently there are 31 on the Official list https://pottedinsl.com/community-markets/
When out wandering the grid we can see the 3D signs for the different plant types. Are these only available to Markets, or can anyone get them?
No, these are available to any player – again send in a ticket requesting the Potted Small Marketing Pack and it will be sent to you within 48 hours https://pottedinsl.com/support/
and something random………
If you had to be an animal for a day, what would you be?
Obviously a dragon ☺ now throws that question straight back at you – what would you be?
Erm.. I’m the one asking the questions in MY shed… however I fear you will singe my hair if I dont answer. I would be a bear!
Thanks Claud for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer the questions.
Make sure you get out there and visit the Markets. The owners really do work hard to make them great places to visit.
That’s about it for this Edition. I hope everyone has a great week.
