As Potted evolves, we are making modifications to keep up with overall Player feedback on some of our products. One of the biggest calls for change that we’ve had is an update to the Spider Plant lines.
To start that change, we introduced Air Plant Pots. Air Plant Pots use Spider Plant Seeds, and offer far more versatility in art, design and pot construction. Air Plants have been available in the store for some time now, and we look forward to expanding that line!
What’s Next:
All future Limited Edition Pots of this variety will come in Air Plant form. We will no longer be creating Limited Edition Spider Plant Pots.
Does this mean Spider Plant Pots are disappearing forever? Yes and no. While no new Spider Plant Pot models will be released moving forward, we will always keep a small selection of Spider Plant Pots available in the store.
The majority of the Spider Plant Pots currently available in the store will be retired as we move forward, especially as the Air Plant Pot lines expand to take their place.
As always, when a specific pot line is being permanently retired, we will give advance notice!
What about Seeds?
Changing the Seeds to reflect these updates will be a longer process, simply due to the sheer amount of revisions that need to be made.
To start, we have changed the Harvest Bowl text. All Spider Plants AND Air Plants harvested will now show Air Plant in the Hovertext and Seed name. The same goes for any Starter Seeds found in Patreon Packs, Seed Vendors, or as gifts.
Just as before, these seeds will work with EITHER Spider Plant Pots or Air Plant Pots. Only the name has changed.
In the coming weeks, we will be updating all Seed Pack images and the Official Seed Spreadsheet to mirror this change. We ask for your patience during this time, as this is a large job and will take a bit of work to complete.
End Goals
At the end of this process, we hope to have a thriving and expansive Air Plant Pot line, that will allow us to better highlight the fun and artistry that goes in to creating these seeds!
And those retired Limited Edition Spider Plant Pots you have? Those will still work – forever! They are a valued and cherished part of Potted history, and for those of you who have them, we hope you continue to enjoy them always.
